It has helped China from being attacked in many wars, but now it is no longer used for protection. Now, the Great Wall is a very well known tourist attraction. The Great Wall is so old that some of it is collapsing because it just can’t stand up any longer, but some of the destroyed parts are from attacks that have tried to knock it down. Some of the more popular parts of the Great Wall are getting re-built, but some parts that are destroyed are not getting re-built. It is such a popular tourist attraction that people from around the world come to China just to visit the Great Wall.
